It's National Orgasm Day and We've Got Some Tips for You!

Hey Privates!
It's National Orgasm Day, and boy do we have a treat for you...
💦 It's National Orgasm Day, and we asked sex therapist Dr. Kate Balestrieri of Modern Intimacy our burning questions about reaching your full O potential
What's the difference between female and male orgasms, and how do we fix the "orgasm gap"?
When it comes to sexual encounters between cisgender men and cisgender women, women are roughly 27% less likely to have an orgasm than their male counterparts, indicating a significant orgasm gap. In fact, the majority of vulva owners report needing clitoral stimulation to reach orgasm, and they do not orgasm from penetration alone.Â
To close the gap, sex education, less focus on performance, and more attunement between partners is a good start.Â
What are your top tips for maximizing orgasm potential?
Extending sexual stimulation will help maximize orgasm potential. Try things like delay sprays or even wearing a condom. In fact, a textured condom, like the Trojan Willa Ribbed Condom, can help add an extra buffer to a sensitive shaft and can increase staying power. It's also important to realize that orgasm potential doesn't just happen with the penis, vagina, and clitoris. Orgasms are possible in many other ways, including nipple, anal, and prostate stimulation and even through intense breathwork. You can also play with edging or consider pelvic floor exercises to work toward increased orgasm control.
What are the best positions and foreplay to reach orgasm?
Some people may not believe it, but adding sex toys into the mix can actually improve your ability to reach orgasm, as you have a better sense of how to bring yourself or your partner to pleasure. My favorite is the Trojan Ultra Touch Fingertip Vibrator because it adds a little extra spice and texture to your own body, improving the sensory experience whether you use it on genitals or other parts of the body. When it comes to positions, there are so many benefits of trying something new, which provides a new adventure to explore together. You may decide it's your new go-to position, or you may retire it after one go. Either way, you get to learn something new about your body, your partner's body, erogenous areas to explore, or the way a new angle may feel. A missionary position done horizontally can feel very different vertically (thank you, gravity!). Just the rush of doing something different can be enough to breathe a little extra passion into your routine. Remember that every person's body is different, so different positions may work better for others. And, like most experiences in life, there is a continuum of sensation and pleasure when it comes to orgasms. Some will be milder, some may have a staggered rhythm, some may be quick, while others long and slow.Â
